Beer + Hospitality
After producing documentaries to honor the pioneers of craft brewing, developing ridiculous brand videos on shoestring budgets, and showcasing some of the most unique hotels in America… one thing is undeniable: a massive amount of effort goes into a good time. We learned a lot on these trips. First, that amateur comedians are easier to direct than celebrities. Sometimes you have to choose between charisma and integrity in the edit. Artistry isn’t limited to painters and musicians. Ghosts are real; we can prove it. And Kim Jordan at New Belgium is one of the boldest women any of us had ever met.
Challenges
Mixing new footage with archival footage into a documentary that felt intentional for The Brewers Association
Directing brewery and hotel staff who were extremely uncomfortable on camera
Managing decades-long brewer rivalries while maintaining respect and integrity for both icons—on production and through our editing choices
Building trusted relationships with investors, CEOs, and talent
Coordinating the filming of absurd scenes in public areas of regal, historical institutions
Getting attacked by a hive of bees while filming on a hotel rooftop
